Sayantani Chakraborty
I started my journey with didi from the day of Arddhanareeswara workshop and I believe with ‘his’ blessings only got her as my ‘Guru’. I can remember the very first day, how I felt. Till now, I couldn’t express it to her.
Though I was not learning regularly from her, I was not her ‘shishya’ that time but, it was decided that I will learn under her guidance. I considered her as my Guru. There’re many teachers but the relationship of Guru – Sishya is something different. A powerful, sacred soul who can motivate us, uplift our mind. I found that bliss and really don’t know when I’ve devoted myself to her feet.
I learnt how to dedicate myself, how to motivate myself. She’s motivator. Her unparalleled dedication at the time of six months ‘Margaam’ course amazed us, no one even can imagine to complete a Margaam with six months! She did it and she made us to do it! She’s perfectionist! so there’s no compromise with quality!
She’s perfect in all aspects not only in dance! Even sometime I didn’t tie my sharee properly and she’ll show how to tie it properly! She’s like mother! The motherhood lies within her possess to act it. She scold me when I say – it’s not coming properly. After that when I did properly she kisses me in forehead. She’s devotee to this art form, she’s spreading our Indian culture into enormous extent.
Without her I’m nothing. If she was not there, I never be able to learn ‘nattuvangam’ in a small period, I learnt almost 14 items! Beyond my imagination! I feel that classroom is my second home. It’s full of oxygen where I can breathe in peace.
My words are inadequate to express my emotions towards her. I don’t need anything, just want your blessings till last day. And I always pray for your good health. My sincere pranam to your feet.
